
Jack Rees, Principal
j.m.rees (called jack) is heir to Kansas City's oldest interior design firm in continuous operation. He was literally raised in the business. Working at various times as a carpenter, general contractor, textile designer, project manager and renovation architect, Jack has hands-on experience in every facet of residential design and construction. Educated at Cooper Union and the University of Texas (Master of Science in Architectural Studies), he is uniquely qualified to realize your vision with style and integrity.
Jack also exhibits, writes and teaches. Exhibitions include Conceptual Play (2008, The Greenlease Gallery), the virtual nomad (1999, The Linda Hall Library for the History of Science), and Manhattan Miniature Golf (1978, P.S.1, Queens, New York). He is editor of The Sixth Surface; Steven Holl Lights the Nelson-Atkins Museum (2007) and guest editor of an issue of the Nexus Network Journal devoted to Eero Saarinen on the centennial of his birth (2010). He is currently teaching a studio workshop in the KU SOA (2016).
